4 Best Heat Protection Sprays I’ve Tested So Far
Hello, everyone! It’s so good having you here, on my blog, again.
Today I’d like to tell you about heat protection sprays that I have tested this year. To be honest, many of you kept asking me about heat styling and the damage that it does to the hair. So instead of sending each one of you the same answer, I’m writing this post. In a moment you will learn how to isolate the hair from high temperatures. I’m going to give you the names of the products that in my opinion work the best.
Is a heat protection spray a must-have?
I’m a big fan of heat protectants. I think it’s worth having at least one at home and reaching for it before heat styling. Naturally, if you blow dry your hair once in a blue moon then it’s okay not to have a heat protectant on the shelf. However, those of you who don’t part with the hot styling tools better consider using the protectant on a regular basis. Blow dryer, flat iron and other styling devices that produce high temperatures cause considerable damage to the hair, and you want to avoid brittleness and dullness, right?
4 best heat protection sprays I’ve tested
My number 1: NANOIL Heat Protectant Spray
It feels like Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray offers more than other heat protectants that I’ve had a chance to test. First of all, ever since I’ve been using this product, my hair seems to be better-looking and shinier. I love it for keeping the style in place for a long time, especially curls. The heat protection and this long lifespan of a style is owed to the silk proteins added to the formula. Using this spray isn’t difficult at all – seriously, creating heat protection causes zero problems. The fragrance is also a plus. It’s subtle and remains on the strands for a few hours. This is why I consider Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray the best:
- delivers promised results
- its formula looks okay
- lasts long (6.76 fl oz)
- isn’t expensive
- creates a glossy finish
My number 2: KERASTASE Thermique Chronologiste
I find this one perfect for frizzy hair. I read somewhere that Kerastase Thermique Chronologiste controls frizz up to 24 hours, even if the air humidity is above average. I don’t know if it really works that well, but I can confirm that it makes my hair smooth for long, long hours. The hairstyle stays in place for equally long. I guess I don’t need to mention that the product protects strands from high temperatures (440°F). Besides, I noticed it leaving my hair more pleasant to the touch. Contrary to most products of this type, the one offered by Kerastase has to be applied to the hand, and later spread over the strands. And that’s why you need to be careful not to apply too much. I’d also like to add that this product can be put on the scalp, but I’ve never done that.
My number 3: OUAI Heat Protection Spray
If you’re looking for a 2-in-1 product, try OUAI Heat Protection Spray. It protects the strands from the high temperatures and also increases manageability for easy styling. Sadly, even though this is a pretty lightweight spray, it may drag hair down a bit – it happens to me only when I put it on completely dry hair. I suggest using this protectant before reaching for a flat iron or curling tongs because it fixes the hairstyle perfectly. Thanks to this cosmetic, my hair holds curl for longer than just a few hours. I love the packaging because it shows how much product is left. Still, I think I ran out of it too fast, and the price isn’t low so… you know what I’m trying to say, right?
My number 4: WELLA Eimi Sugar Lift
What I like about this product most is the price. It’s surprisingly low and, basically, that was what made me buy this heat protectant in the first place. To be honest, I doubt Wella Eimi Sugar Lift traps water inside the hair, which is a pity – no hydration improvement for my hair. But it certainly isolates hair from high temperatures, which is great. Surprisingly, this product made my style super voluminous, and I didn’t expect to get this effect. This was impressive. Wella Eimi Sugar Lift lifts the roots, helping me create bigger-looking hairstyles. I really love this effect – who wouldn’t? I apply it to towel-dried hair before blow drying.
Final thoughts on hair heat protection
Naturally, I’ve tested more heat protection sprays except those four. However, only Nanoil, Wella, Ouai and Kerastase give me the effects I counted on. If you’re wondering which heat protectant to pick, I’m sure you will be happy if you choose one of the reviewed products.
In case you would like to know more on some of the protectants, let me know. I’ll do my best to answer your questions as quickly as I possibly can.
