My Subjective Vitamin C Face Serum Ranking. See Which Brightening Serums Freed Me From Dark Spots!

Vitamin C is currently one of the most common cosmetic ingredients used to deal with a range of skin concerns. Actually, this shouldn’t be anything surprising because vitamin C offers brilliant properties and basically it suits all skin types.

I strongly recommend you get a serum formulated with vitamin C because this product works wonders. Finding a product like this one isn’t difficult because almost all reputable cosmetic brands have a vitamin C serum in their offer. What may appear difficult though is deciding which product suits your skin best. And that’s why I’m writing this post: I’ve tested quite a number of vitamin C face serums, so now I can present to you my thoughts about some them. I’m going to focus only on the cosmetics that gave me good results.

How do I apply vitamin C face serum?

I apply a brightening serum enriched with vitamin C twice a day: morning and evening, regardless of the season. I basically use it all year.

First, I need to wash my face. In most cases I do this with a cleansing gel. Then I wipe my skin with a tonic. When it absorbs into the skin, I grab the vitamin C serum. However, when I’m short of time, I apply the serum before the skin manages to soak up the tonic completely. Using a dropper, which almost all face serums come with, I put 4 drops on the face and neck.

Now it’s time to massage the serum into the skin, which I do really gently. I can’t tell you how long this whole procedure takes because it depends on the serum, actually. Some of them need just a couple of seconds to penetrate the shin, whereas others seem to work slower. Anyway, once the serum is absorbed fully, I apply a face cream: a nourishing one at bedtime, a SPF in the morning.

RANKING OF MY TOP BRIGHTENING FACE SERUMS WITH VITAMIN C

#1 NANOIL, VITAMIN C FACE SERUM

This one is my favorite serum of the recent months. I chose it due to 3-0 ethyl ascorbic acid which is the stabilized and the most effective form of vitamin C. It’s pretty funny that on one hand this serum is so good at removing dark spots and fighting off dullness, being at the same time safe for sensitive skin. In general, Nanoil Vitamin C Face Serum promotes radiant and supple skin. The longer I’ve been using it, the less prone to blemishes – including pigmentation spots – my skin seems to be. The formula is enriched with punarnava extract which is a naturally-derived antioxidant that delays aging. I wish I remembered when I started using this serum from Nanoil to tell you how long it took to give me a younger-looking complexion. Anyway, I didn’t have to wait long. Lightweight and fast-absorbing texture is another quality that I like about Nanoil Vitamin C Face Serum. Lastly, this brightening serum is available in 1.69 fl. oz bottle, which is almost double the size of other products of this kind. Even the price per item is acceptable.

#2 MARIO BADESCU, VITAMIN C SERUM

On the second place of my brightening serum ranking there is a cosmetic that costs twice as much as the Nanoil Vitamin C Face Serum. Does it mean that it delivers two times better results? I wouldn’t put it that way. Actually, the effects produced by both serums are pretty similar, I’d say. Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum leaves skin even-toned and delays aging – that’s for sure. As for the composition, this serum contains hyaluronic acid that is one of our skin’s natural components responsible for maintaining hydration. What’s pretty shocking is the fact that this serum shouldn’t be applied twice a day. That’s why I applied it only at bedtime, sometimes every other day, and this way I didn’t run out of this 1 fl. oz bottle fast. This is another lightweight serum that spreads easily on the face and absorbs quickly.

#3 IT’S SKIN, FORMULA POWER 10 VC EFFECTOR

I have to admit that this was my first product from It’s Skin, but I don’t regret giving it a try. When it comes to Power 10 VC Effector, there are two sizes you can choose from: 1 fl. oz and 2 fl. oz. I bought the smaller one but next time I’ll go for the 2-oz. Naturally, no matter the size you choose, you get a vitamin C derivative known as Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate. The good news is that even though it’s pretty strong, it doesn’t cause a reaction in the skin, at least it didn’t irritate mine. This serum has antibacterial properties, which basically means that it fights off acne. Additionally, It’s Skin Formula Power 10 VC Effector brightens pigmentation spots and leaves skin radiant. Another plus for the relatively low price. The only drawback for taking longer to absorb fully into the skin, especially when compared to the products mentioned above.

#4 CLOCHEE, ANTIOXIDANT OIL SERUM WITH VIT. C

This serum is primarily made for sensitive and mature complexions. Rose and plum seed oil are the main sources of vitamin C here. The serum smells really good and soaks into the skin really fast. And once it’s absorbed, skin starts turning smoother and brighter. I like the effects of even-toned and younger-looking skin, even though I had to wait to see the effects a little bit too long – but in general I didn’t mind that. As the name suggests, this serum is also enriched with antioxidants, which is great. I need to draw your attention to one thing: Clochee Antioxidant Oil Serum with Vit. C has plant oils in its formula, which makes the consistency a little bit greasy, thus it needs more time to penetrate the skin. Some people may not like it but I overcame this problem using the serum at bedtime. I woke up with moisturized and nourished skin. The price is average, I’d say.

Final remarks

You’ve just learnt my favorite brightening face serums enriched with vitamin C. I’m sure that once you introduce some of them into your daily skin regimen, you’ll fall in love with the effects: the bright, clear and even-toned complexion. I’m wondering if you are already vitamin C face serum users. If so, please tell me which products you like, and which ones didn’t give you the promised results. I’d also like to learn whether you prefer to order beauty products online or just get them from regular brick-and-mortar shops.
